Sometimes the first step is simply being heard.

Life can feel overwhelming at times but you don't need to struggle on your own. Having someone truly listen can make all the difference. I offer a  safe space to explore what you're going through, without judgement.

Liz Evans, Integrative Counsellor

About me

Liz Evans (She/her) MBACP

Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step. You don't have to have everything figured out before you come to counselling.

I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can be yourself, talk openly and feel genuinely heard.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on different therapeutic approaches to suit you as an individual. Together, we'll work at a pace that feels right for you, exploring what is happening, what may be keeping you stuck and what you would like to be different.

My approach

I believe you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you with curiosity, empathy and respect.

Counselling with me is a collaborative process. We'll explore your experiences, thoughts and feelings in a safe and supportive space, so you can gain insight, build self-understanding and move towards the changes that matter to you. We can work either online or in person at my practice in the market town of Buckingham.

Personal experience of SEN & EBSA

As a parent of an autistic child.  I understand some of the challenges that come with supporting someone with additional needs, anxiety and Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA). I know how hard it can be to navigate systems, advocate for your child, manage the emotional ups and downs – and still try to look after yourself.

This is a space for you. You don't need to justify your feelings or be the strong one all the time. Counselling can give you the chance to pause, breathe and focus on you.

My professional experience

My experience includes supporting people through a wide range of challenges, including:

  • Anxiety, depression and stress
  • Low self-esteem and confidence
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Life changes and transitions
  • Menopause and the emotional impact it can bring
  • Living with chronic illness
  • Trauma and the effects of difficult or abusive relationships
  • Domestic abuse and trauma (working with Women's Aid)
  • The emotional impact of supporting a child with additional needs
  • Bereavement and loss
